Skin Nourishment Workshop Recap
Hello & happy Sunday!
I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend so far and having a relaxing Sunday night. One of my girl friends (Kirstin at Rural Root One ) and I recently did a Skin Nourishment Workshop in Okotoks and I wanted to do a little recap on it with pictures so you can see what all went down!
Kirstin and I had a really fun night with a small but cozy group of amazing ladies who made it out to the workshop. We started the night off with introducing ourselves and chatting a bit about why we got into nutrition and more specifically, skin health. Then, we served up some tasty kale salad + vitamin C packed juice while casually chatting about skin health 1-on-1.
Throughout the workshop, the ladies were able to get ‘hands-on’ and create body butters, face cleansers and body scrubs (all of which they took home – yay!). We chatted about diet and skin connection, foods that are nourishing for your skin and how gut health affects it all. We also went over different supplements that are helpful for skin problems and helped the ladies with their personal skin questions.
We had a good selection of different essential oils for them to pick from to add to their cleansers and scrubs and all of their creations smelled amazing <3 Towards the end, we served up some delicious ‘Buckwheat Sprouted Bites’ and finished up the body butters (these almost didn’t turn out ha-ha, thank god for freezers!).
At the end of the workshop, Kirstin and I did gift card draws for each of our businesses and our lucky winners were: Jess & Cheryl! (Congrats by the way!) and answered up any remaining questions. Each of them took home a booklet made by Kirstin and I (mostly Kirstin though, I’ll admit! She kills it in the marketing department) which has an in-depth look into skin health. The booklets included tons of info on diet tips for each type of skin, what causes most skin problems (specifically acne & eczema), the recipes for each skin product and food item served, and so much more. We had so much fun doing this and it was a great start to workshops for the future.
We love chatting about skin and the connection between our gut and skin health. If you or anymore you know in the Calgary (and surrounding areas) want to come to a future skin workshop – let us know and we will get planning again!
A big thanks to the ladies who attended – your support means everything to us and we really, really appreciated it <3
