Spirulina Infused Yogurt w/ Dragon Fruit
I hope you all had the most amazing Christmas with your family & friends and I hope you were able to eat (a lot of) delicious food and share some good laughs with your loved ones. I definitely ate too much food and i’ll be honest, I regret nothing! I love a good home-cooked turkey dinner. To kick things off (after consuming the amount of food that I have in the past few days) I decided to use up some greek probiotic yogurt I had in my fridge and spike it with spirulina powder and some home-made vanilla coconut granola.
What is Spirulina?
This nutrient-dense super food is packed with protein, B-vitamins, vitamin C, D, E, A , potassium, iron and magnesium (and many others!). It can help bind to heavy metals in the body and help remove them as well. Chlorella is also great for this too! Check with your natural practitioner if taking this supplement is right for you!
Spirulina Infused Yogurt w/ Dragon Fruit
1 – 1.5 cups organic yogurt of your choice (I used plain, then added a bit of vanilla & honey)
1/4 – 1/2 tsp high quality spirulina powder – you can use more if you are at that tolerance
1/2 tsp mushroom powder (optional)
1/2 – 1 cup granola of your choice
3-4 scoops of dragon fruit – if you’ve never tried this before, it tastes very sweet 🙂
Sprinkle of hemp hearts
Directions: In a blender or food processor, whip up the yogurt, spirulina powder, mushroom powder and hemp hearts together until smooth. If using plain yogurt, add in some honey and vanilla if you want it a bit sweeter. You can also just use a spoon/ whisk to combine these ingredients. Pour into a bowl, top if off with granola and scoops of dragon fruit and voila – you have an easy, nutrient-dense spin on “yogurt and granola”.
