FOODIE FRIDAY REVIEW

Friday Foodie Review – Light Cellar

I had heard about this place many times from a co-worked of mine who loves it and I was so excited to visit! This place was everything I was expecting, and more. This cozy elixir & super-food bar smelled delicious and I instantly wanted to try every.single.thing. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by a friendly guy behind the elixir bar. He went through the menu with me and told me which drinks were his favorite and asked me what flavors I really liked. I settled on his recommendation of “All Three Treasures”.

Wow.

This drink was a creamy, decadent blend of reishi, chaga and cordyceps extracts, lacuma, vanilla, coconut butter and some additional herbs. It was so delicious. Amazing recommendation!

I met most of the people working that day and each one seemed very warm and welcoming. One of the guys named Jordan, who was so nice to me, gave me a tour of the place, including their kitchen that is upstairs (where all the magic happens!). He explained that they produce their own chocolates and sauerkraut (plus many, many more things – but I was the most excited about these two) and provide numerous organic super-foods for people to purchase. Any place that sells an abundance of hard-to-find super-foods is my kinda place. Some brands they have include: E3live, Harmonic Arts & Basic Roots. Seriously, if you live in Calgary, go check this place out! You will most likely spend a lot of time just looking at all of the funky items they have.

When you visit, try out their “All Three Treasures”, “Man Alive”, Turmeric Tone-Up”, and their super-shot “Digest Reset”. Honestly though, every single thing on their menu looks so damn good. It was really hard to decide so I took the guys word on his recommendation and it was delicious. #noregrets.

Also check out some of their upcoming workshops on their website. They have some really cool ones coming up! I’m hoping to volunteer with a few of them, fingers crossed.

I hope you enjoy this place as much as I did when you visit, let me know what you try out!
